Next stop: 28 BC. Promising to reveal a secret.

To find it out, he traveled over two thousand years… in the past. Until 28 BC. There, in that year, Claudio Lardo plays the role of Pompeo Macro, the librarian of Emperor Augustus, and begins to investigate a mystery that will be revealed at the end of the show The Secret of Secrets by Andrea Carraro and Michele Paolillo. His travel companions will be Cinzia Ugatti, Amelia Imparato and Mattia Cianci.

The mystery which fascinates the librarian, and which still persists today, is that of the ancient Etruscans; a people which Rome origins, equally mysterious, are linked to.

It will be a formidable and mysterious adventure over time, over a millennium, witnessed first by the voices of Trojans who landed with Aeneas in Lazio, then by those of the massacred indigenous people, finally by those of the Etruscan people who, after a long period of prosperity, will be defeated and absorbed by the power of Rome.

Pompeo Macro will learn from Etruscans their particular conception of time and writing. But, above all, he will acquire precise knowledge to refer to the poet Virgil for the drafting of the Aeneid, a poem commissioned by the Emperor Augustus to celebrate the myth of Rome.
